Australia’s Domain Administrator, auDA, Investigates Alleged Data Breach

Australia’s internet domain administrator, auDA, is in the process of confirming a potential data breach.The breach came to light when auDA received an alert on Friday.

In an updated statement, auDA revealed that it has informed Australian Cyber Security Centre, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about the alleged breach.

To investigate further, auDA has engaged industry experts and is currently examining evidence provided by the cyber criminal, which includes screenshots of a computer file list.

The organization is working to verify the legitimacy of the claims and the origin of the data.

A Twitter account named FalconFeedsio has reported viewing some of the attacker’s claimed data, including a range of sensitive information.

Senator James Paterson expressed concern about the breach’s potential impact, especially considering auDA’s vital role in managing Australian domains.
