Aussie Broadband appoints its first Chief Operating Officer

Australia

Matthew Kusi-Appauh, the company’s chief strategy officer, has been promoted to the newly formed position of chief operational officer.

Kusi-Appauh – who goes by Kusi – will supervise the integration of Aussie Broadband and telecoms and IT solutions company Over the Wire, the telco announced on Tuesday.

In March, Aussie Broadband completed its $344 million acquisition of the Brisbane-based company, marking the company’s first strategic acquisition.

Kusi has spent the last five years with Aussie Broadband, first as the company’s general manager of marketing and corporate strategy.

Since becoming chief strategy officer in July 2021, he has been in charge of the company’s strategic planning, product development, and key initiatives.

He worked at the University of Wollongong for five years before joining Aussie Broadband in October 2016.

Kusi offered strategic, technical, and management competence to the COO post, according to Phillip Britt, co-founder and managing director of Aussie Broadband.

“For a number of years, Kusi has been a key member of our leadership team, exhibiting a genuine dedication to delivering strategic business goals,” Britt added.

“He’s been instrumental in helping us expand our customer base and turn Aussie Broadband into a household name.”

Aussie Broadband chairman Adrian Fitzpatrick stated that the entire team had “absolute faith” in Kusi’s ability to perform in this vital capacity.

Kusi stated he was “extremely proud to work for Aussie Broadband and take on this new responsibility” in response to the appointment.

“I’m really happy to be setting us up for the next part of our growth adventure,” he added, “since I know how devoted our team is to creating a game-changing experience for customers.”
