Apple Reveals iPhone 14 Pro With Emergency Satellite Connectivity

California- Apple has introduced iPhone 14 models with a new emergency satellite connectivity feature. It allows emergency messages in absence of cellular and WiFi connections. Additionally, the new iPhone has car crash detection technology and long battery life.

Apple CEO Tim Cook was present at the Launch of Apple’s new products including watch AirPod products. The company revealed four versions of the new handsets and new extreme sports wearable-the watch ultra.

Emergency Satellite Connectivity Feature

The company says the new emergency feature is for use in open spaces with a clear sky. Therefore, performance suffers if there are buildings or trees nearby. With this new feature, users can’t make a phone call but can send a short text message. The iPhone will actually show pre-loaded questions to assess the user’s situation. It will send an emergency message directly to the emergency service if they are in an area where emergency service is active. However, the message will go to Apple-trained specialists if you are not in an accessible area.

Though experts say in reality these are interesting features, we hope that users will never have to use them. Meanwhile, Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS insight says, “The investment to add satellite capability should not be underestimated. “It will likely have taken Apple years to put all the pieces of the puzzle in place, including a commercial agreement with satellite provider Globalstar. The creation of the infrastructure needed to pass messages to the emergency services.”

Tech analyst Paolo Pescatore says the innovation was good news for consumers “in hard-to-reach areas”.He further added, “It is encouraging to see providers starting to get serious about using satellites – ultimately reliable and robust connectivity is still highly sought after among all users,”

The iPhone 14 price is from $799 (US), to £849 (UK). Whereas the iPhone 14 Pro price is $999 (US), £1099 (UK).
