Adobe is pushing Firefly AI into the enterprise

Adobe is planning to offer its artificial intelligence tool, Firefly, to its large corporate customers, along with financial indemnity to address copyright challenges related to content created using the tool. This decision comes in response to the growing number of lawsuits concerning image data used in AI services that generate visuals based on minimal text input, such as those from Stability AI and Midjourney.

Earlier this year, Adobe released a test version of Firefly, which utilizes legally safe image data. Now, the company intends to include Firefly in Adobe Express, a tool designed to assist business users who lack specialized design skills in creating images and documents.

To instill confidence in its customers, Adobe has announced that it will provide indemnification for images produced using Firefly, although specific details regarding the financial and legal aspects of the program have not been disclosed. Ashley Still, Senior Vice President of Digital Media at Adobe, stated to Reuters that the company stands behind all content generated by Firefly, both for internal and external use.

Additionally, Adobe will enable businesses to customize the service by training Firefly to incorporate their own logos and products. This way, employees can create content that aligns with their brand guidelines, as explained by Still.

In addition to Firefly, Adobe has integrated AI-based features into its digital marketing tools. Suman Basetty, Senior Director of AI Products for Adobe Experience Cloud, shared that users will be able to generate reports from system data simply by asking questions in natural language. For example, they could inquire about comparing online and offline sales in a specific region over a particular period. Basetty emphasized that this approach democratizes data access across the entire enterprise, eliminating the need for manual data retrieval and report generation.
