Aarti Joshi Appointed as NSW Department of Customer Service’s New CIO

The NSW Department of Customer Service (DCS) has announced the promotion of Aarti Joshi from acting procurement officer to chief information officer (CIO). Joshi will be replacing Suneetha Bodduluri, the former acting CIO of DCS, who has moved to the NSW Telco Authority as its acting chief digital and technology officer.

According to a spokesperson from the department, Joshi’s appointment comes after an extensive recruitment process. Having worked on digital and innovation projects within the department for several years, Joshi is a permanent replacement for the CIO position.

Joshi will be reporting to Mandy Young, the chief operating officer at DCS. In a recent LinkedIn post, she expressed her excitement about leading an agenda that focuses on leveraging technology, data, and new ways of working to create a customer-centric government.

Prior to her promotion, Joshi held senior roles in systems, enterprise architecture, and digital innovation at DCS. She also gained valuable experience in IT roles at Woolworths Group and Big W.

This appointment marks a significant milestone for DCS as it aims to enhance its digital capabilities and better serve the people and communities of New South Wales.
