Youi, an Australian insurer, has appointed Steve Nichols as its technology chief, replacing Loren Fisher, who became the inaugural CIO at The Lottery Corporation in June 2022.
Nichols previously worked as the CIO and chief digital and technology officer for Shell Energy Australia, as well as holding positions at ERM Power, NBN Co, and Telstra.
His appointment is effective immediately and is considered crucial for Youi, which views technology and digital solutions as critical for its business operations and improving customer experience.
Youi’s incoming CEO, Nathaniel Simpson, expressed confidence that Nichols’ experience in leading digital transformation projects in major companies and start-up environments would be invaluable to the insurer.
