Australia- Kangaroo killed an elderly man in Western Australia over the weekend. He was attacked by the wild kangaroo reportedly kept as a pet. Experts are not surprised that a kangaroo killed a man, however, it is the country’s first fatal kangaroo attack in more than 85 years.
The incident happened near Albany at the Redmond property of the man. The man was found with serious injuries by a family member.
Kangaroo was shoot to reach the man
The police shot the kangaroo so paramedics could reach the man. However, the man died at the scene. Kangaroo behaviour expert Graeme Coulson told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that the Kangaroos have ” a lot of weapons” such as sharp teeth, claws, and powerful legs. Clouson said, ” Certainly if they’re cornered or in some sort of distress, that can be quite dangerous.”
He further added, ” The problem with kangaroos and people is we are both upright animals, we stand on our two feet, and an upright stance like that is a challenge to the male kangaroo. ”
Previously, a woman walking in Queensland was attacked by a kangaroo. She was left wounded with a broken leg and a cut.

According to sources, the man has kept the kangaroo as a pet. Though, there are legal restrictions on keeping Australian native fauna as pets. In the Australian southwest, grey kangaroos are common. They can weigh up to 54 kilograms and stand 1.3 meters tall.
Also, the male kangaroos are more aggressive and fight with men using the same techniques as used to fight each other. They are dangerous with muscular tails, and powerful clawed hind legs.
In 1936, William Cruickshank, a man died in a hospital in New South Wales a month after he was attacked by a Kangaroo.
