In terms of the number of staff with Microsoft qualifications, NAB claimed to be second only to Microsoft Australia, a feat it had previously also accomplished with AWS.

The bank said that 1800 of its employees are now Microsoft certified, with skills in Azure, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, and Teams among them.

In a statement released by Microsoft, the bank stated that over the next 18 months, another 4000 employees, including 500 engineers and interns, are scheduled to receive Microsoft training.

Since 2018, NAB has adopted a multi-cloud approach, and at that time it established a “cloud guild” programme that, by last year, had trained 7000 employees in cloud computing.

Since 2020, Microsoft’s Worldwide Learning team and NAB’s cloud guild have collaborated to increase learning options.

Our industry-leading cloud journey is still evolving, and while we do so, it’s critical that we invest in our employees so they can succeed in this new environment.” Steve Day, CTO of NAB, added.

More than 7000 of our employees have received cloud technology training over the past four years, and this training is still being provided to our workforces in Australia, Vietnam, and India.

“Better customer experiences are the result of our cooperation with Microsoft, which has made sure that our huge investment in technology is well supported by an equally big investment in our people.

The bank has also started a four-week, 200-participant blended programme to deliver Microsoft Certified: Azure Adminstrator certificates.
