La Trobe University is searching for a CIO to replace Stuart Hildyard. He has been serving the University for nearly 12 years. Now he has decided to depart as a CIO. Hildyard announced his departure on the social media platform LinkedIn, saying that it was time for a ‘refresh.’
He further added, ‘’ It’s time for me to refresh and take on a new challenge which I am very excited about. ‘’
Stuart Hildyard set to leave mid-September
A La Trobe spokesperson said that Hildyard is set to leave mid-September, and they are actively looking for a new candidate for the position. The recruiting team is considering both ‘’external and internal professionals to fulfil the job. The university is based in Melbourne.
The job posting says that Hildyard’s successor will need to “ensure the university is taking advantage of emerging and developed technologies” across data capabilities and automation.
Meanwhile, Hildyard says the University is also ‘’ in the midst of digital transformation with six program streams delivering strongly, helping… enable its objective post our operating model reset at the start of 2022.’’ this works which the upcoming Chief operating officer will take over.
Meanwhile, The spokesperson added.“Post Stuart’s departure and until the new candidate commences, Jason Smith will be our acting CIO,”
Stuart Hildyard officially stepped into the CIO spot in 2021
Hildyard joined the University back in 2010 as a business development manager. He also worked in a variety of enterprise application roles and worked his way up to acting Chief information officer and executive director of ICT in 2017.
In 2021 Hildyard officially stepped into the CIO spot, after acting in the role for three months prior. He was also previously the business analysis manager at the University of Melbourne from 2007 to 2010. Now, he has decided to refresh his career with new opportunities.
