Thryv Australia, formerly known as Sensis, has lost its chief information officer of three years, Aman Sahani, to investment management business Vanguard.
Sahani will join Vanguard as the company’s new Asia Pacific CIO, leading a 200-person IT division from the company’s headquarters in Melbourne.
He will succeed Kim Petersen, who has moved on to become Vanguard’s president of international systems in the United States following three years as its Asia Pacific CIO.
Sahani joins Vanguard after five and a half years at Sensis, which rebranded as Thryv Australia in October last year after being sold for $257 million by Telstra and Platinum Equity.
He has been the company’s CIO for the past three years, and before that, he was its head of core systems for more than two years.
During his 20-year career, Sahani has also worked at Australia Post, DWS, NAB, ANZ, Telstra, and RMIT.
Vanguard Australia managing director Daniel Shrimski stated that Sahani will bring “strong technical skills and a passion for innovation” to the firm at a critical juncture.
While launching its new superannuation fund, the firm is continuing to revamp its direct-to-investor business.
Sahani will be in charge of “delivering efficient, modern [and] scalable technology and infrastructure solutions to enable customer success.”
“We are excited to welcome Aman to Vanguard and to be a part of the Australian executive team,” Shrimski added.
Shrimski also expressed gratitude to Petersen for her “services to the Australian business, having supervised a period of significant expansion and transition in Vanguard systems and technology.”
