GitLab, a coding platform, is worth $18 billion

In its Nasdaq debut on Thursday, GitLab shares started nearly 22% above their offer price, giving the software testing platform a market capitalization of US$13.48 billion (A$18.18 billion). The company’s stock started at US$94.25, up from US$77 per share in the initial public offering. Nvidia, Siemens, and Goldman Sachs are among the company’s businesses. It’s first public offering (IPO) sold 8.42 million shares. 1.98 million shares were sold by a selling shareholder connected to co-founder and CEO Sytse Sijbrandij.

It was priced at the maximum range of GitLab’s previously advertised pricing range of US$66 to US$69.In altogether, the IPO raised roughly US$801 million. Due to significant investor interest for high-growth businesses, software and technology companies such as UiPath and Coupang have made good U.S. market debuts last year. However, its IPO market has stagnated over the last week as numerous businesses have postponed their intentions to list due to concerns about inflation and the turbulent market.
