Life expectancy has always been an interesting topic. In Australia, life expectancy has gone up and it also depends on where you live. Different places have different life expectancies in Australia. Males in Australia can expect their life up to 80.9 years and for females, it can go to 85 years. The Australian Bureau of Statistics has found out that Males and Females are closing the gap in Australia. In the last ten years, Men’s life expectancy has increased to 0.2 per cent and for women, it’s 0.1 per cent. Australia ranks sixth to seventh when it comes to living the longest.
Japan, Singapore, and Spain are far ahead when it comes to living the longest, but Australia is also inching towards the high life expectancy. When it comes to the UK, the USA, and New Zealand – Australia has the highest life expectancy.
Sydneysiders residing in the north shore can expect high life expectancy as compared to other sides of Australia. North Sydney and Hornsby council areas have comparatively higher life expectancy compared to other areas in Australia.
The lowest expectancy can be found in the Northern Territory outback. Victoria has the highest life expectancy with an average age of 81.8 years followed by the Australian Capital Territory.
Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, and Queensland fall a bit lower compared to Victoria but have an average life expectancy.
Humans are not immortal but want to live a bit longer. If we look at Japan, the Average life expectancy is 84.21 years and people of all genders enjoy their life happily. Australia, on the other hand, also enjoys a higher life span but the most important thing is happiness. Even if we become immortal, we would look for happiness, so happiness and a better life are important instead of living longer.
