Software AG Explores Sale of Three Software Platforms

Software AG, a German software company, is seeking bids for two of its software platforms. One is Trend Miner and the second is Cumulocity. The company is also exploring options for its third platform, Alfabet. These platforms are used for data analysis, the Internet of Things, and company architecture visualization, respectively.

Software AG is majority-owned by private equity firm Silver Lake. Though, it has not yet commented on the reports.

The company’s StreamSets and webMethods platforms were recently sold to IBM. Silver Lake also announced its plan to delist Software AG from the stock exchange at a price of 32 euros ($51.92) per share. This is the expected next step after Silver Lake’s takeover of the company this year.
