NBN Co entered the market for 10 Gbps enterprise services after TPG.
The change results from improvements made to NBN Co’s wholesale Enterprise Ethernet product, and it will be made accessible in 304 commercial fibre zones, whose coverage area is said to include 900,000 businesses.
Retailers now have access to symmetric plans with speed levels ranging from 2Gbps to 10Gbps.
According to NBN Co’s release, the fiber-to-the-premises business solution is “Ethernet standards compatible” with all retailers.
“Health professionals supporting highly data intensive imaging,” “schools needing plans based on dedicated wholesale bandwidth on the NBN,” “franchises running business-critical and cloud applications,” and “small to medium businesses with high upload and download requirements” are some of the target customers listed by NBN Co.
The delivery of the high-speed services within 50 business days is available to about two-thirds of the locations in the NBN commercial fibre zones.
A new commercial network termination device will be supported for access to the faster speeds.
According to NBN Co., retailers with a 36-month commitment will have their connection expenses totally covered for locations that are in business fibre zones.
Data centres in metro and regional areas will also have on-demand access to the service.
TPG introduced a 10Gbps business service earlier this month to the approximately 137,000 enterprises in its service area.
